Talented resuscitation doctor Marina Bondare's marriage is on the verge of collapse due to her husband Andrei's infidelity. Andrei is also Marina's colleague at the hospital, and she plans to accept a job offer in Poland to start a new life there. However, one morning she wakes up to explosions outside her window - war has begun. Marina decides to stay in her hospital, which starts working around the clock and becomes a refuge for many patients.
